Not every kitchen should be white. This one is stained hardwood throughout, and it is warmer to stand in and more forgiving to live in than the version of it that would have gone in five years ago.
The hood is custom-built to fit the range wall. The cabinetry carries around the arched window instead of stopping short of it, which is the detail that makes a kitchen look built for the house rather than installed in it.
An island with seating and storage opens the room into the living space, so whoever is cooking is still part of the evening. Countertops, tile backsplash, under-cabinet lighting and appliance install to finish.
